How to design the future fashionably, with consciousness
Costavolcano is a Chile based, leading edge group of companies dedicated to ecologically conscious design and products ranging from organic fruits, to the only certified organic alpaca farm in Chile to architectural and organizational consulting services. They are best known internationally for their timeless, simple and modern organic alpaca fashion accessories.
Their work is an exploration of the intersection of the finest, natural traditional materials and design to produce simply modern, luxurious pieces. Alpaca, lapis lazuli, silver, copper all are the basis for this Chilean brand.
The exploration continues, by using remnants of machine-produced thread – upcycling these more industrial materials – instead of the organic farm-grown alpaca, to wrap the same, high design shapes. The result – another look, luxurious transformative and conscious.
.
Simple, almost basic shapes take on a never-seen before feel. Take the unisex, square scarf. Three colors in the yarn, a square, and creative versatility.
Husband and wife -Francisco Jara Gomez, (trained as an architect) and Pamela Duran Wendt (trained as a civil biochemical engineer) – are the joint visionaries and creatives behind this dynamic brand.
